New Water Heaters Help Homeowners "Go Green"

ServiceOne AC of Longwood is helping homeowners across Central Florida learn how they can “go green” (and save some green) by installing new, state-of-art water heaters. There are two options on the market: tankless or conventional; each has their own advantages.

50-gallon water heaters

According to ServiceOne founder and president Bill Gouty, the GE GeoSpring Hybrid Water Heater is one of America’s most efficient 50-gallon water heaters, using 62-percent less energy and saving more than $300/year on utility bills. “The GeoSpring Hybrid Water Heater delivers all the hot water you need, plus it’s much more efficient than a standard electric water heater,” said Gouty. “And because it uses the same water and electric connections, installation is fast and easy.”

Tankless water heaters

Also, growing in popularity are tankless water heaters, which offer the following benefits:

  • More energy efficient  – only uses energy when hot water is needed
  • Longer life span – no tank buildup, low maintenance
  • Instant, unlimited hot water – not limited by tank capacity
  • Save on space – can be mounted in most places within the home or office

“At ServiceOne AC, we’re here to help you with your water heater needs. From tankless to conventional, we can help you find the right water heater to suit your lifestyle,” said Gouty.

Signs that you may need to replace your water heater

Just like any other major appliance in the home, water heaters will eventually wear out. To avoid a costly emergency replacement, homeowners should be on the lookout for the following signs that could be an indication that the water heater is on its way out:

  • Little or no hot water
  • Rust-colored water
  • Foul-smelling water odor
  • High pitched or low rumbling noises coming from pipes
  • Water leaks

“Whether you are debating a tankless or conventional water heater, ServiceOne has all the latest options for any situation,” said Gouty. “Our experienced plumbers can help you find the right brand and type for your home and needs.”

Founded in 2003, ServiceOne AC is a locally owned and operated air conditioningheating, and plumbing company that repairs, services and maintains all makes and models of air conditioning, heating, and plumbing equipment and fixtures. The company’s team of experts can also upgrade, replace, or install new air conditioning and heating equipment.

“Homeowners usually don’t consider upgrading their water heater since it’s just an out-of-way appliance doing its job. Today’s new water heaters, however, are much more energy efficient so they pay for themselves relatively quickly in energy savings,” said Gouty. “Plus, they are better for the environment which is important to many of our customers.”
